And don’t forget, if you’re looking for a quick getaway to the sun you can fly to Gatwick and take the first train to Brighton. For example, a journey from Stockholm to Brighton could be done within 3 hours!

Dornoch Beach, Scotland, is a long, tranquil and sandy beach. It has also been awarded the “Seaside Award” for being a clean bathing beach.

St Andrews West Sands, Scotland, is full of activity and a popular beach with a world-famous golf course and historic university town at the background. This is a perfect place if you want to do some kite surfing or windsurfing.

Bridlington North Beach located in Yorkshire has been awarded with a Blue Flag for its great environment, water quality, safety and cleanness.

Ainsdale Beach, Southport, is the ideal place for sea activities like kitesurfing, sailing and parakiting.

Blackpool Sands Beach in Devon is perfect for families. Here you’ll find safe swimming areas and a freshwater paddling pool for small children.

  1. I have spent 1 week in Blackpool Sands Beach in Devon when I worked in UK. I do water sports and I really enjoyed time here. I could recommend …very peaceful place.

  2. I noticed that only one beach – Sennen Cove Beach got mentioned from Cornwall. What about Looe and Talland Bay? Or is it because it’s a bay 🙂 Sometimes a bay can be better that beaches. As for Talland Bay, it more than just a beach. It’s got a very intersting peiece of history behind it see here.
