Hanna’s own London: Part 2

Let’s hear the rest of Hanna’s story:

Portobello MarketThe next day we had the best breakfast buffet ever! Lots of fresh fruit, fresh bread, fresh juices and of course all the ingredients of an English breakfast. The hotel is really to recommend, not only because of the breakfast, but also because of the friendly staff and the location. After breakfast we went out. Our London pass was for one day, and we decided to use it this day. The card gives you the opportunity to do a lot, there are about 50 attractions and discounts on theatre, restaurants and cinemas. It was a warm and sunny day, and because of this we decided only to do two things with the card, the outdoor attractions. We started with a little walk around Oxford Circus, looking at all the shops. Then we took a red London buss to Notting Hill, where we went down Penbrook Lane to the Portobello market that’s only on at Saturdays. Lots of people, clothes, food and things. I loved it!!!

från kanalbåtenThen we went for our first attraction “Jason’s canal boat trip”. It starts in Little Venice and goes through a canal down to Camden lock. It was the nicest trip! It really looks like Venice. You can hardly believe it’s in London. It is so pretty. And calm. We went off at Camden and walked around a little at the Camden Market. We bought spicy food from small stands, and had a beer at the nice canal restaurant Lock 17.

kanalbåtenThen we went to our next attraction, also a boat. “City Cruise on River Thames”, starts at Westminster, goes to Waterloo and then to The Tower and finishes at Greenwich. This was also a very nice trip. It is brilliant to see London from the water. I can really recommend both trips, but especially the canal boat! In the evening we went to see a horror play that got great reviews,” The woman in black” at Fortune theatre. It has been played for 20 years and was just great! Such brilliant actors, and both me and my mum jumped in our seats a couple of times…

Hanna at Camden LockSunday and our last day came too fast. We spent the entire day shopping, shopping, shopping. We went back to Portobello road, no market on Sundays, but nice shops and less crowded. Then we went to Marble Arch to go to Primark, a shop with really nice and cheap clothes. We finished at my favourite place – Camden Market. There I met up with my friend Jenny who lives in London, we had some beers and then ate great food again. Then we went back to the hotel with lots of clothes and bags and packed and went to the airport. It was a lovely weekend and I will return soon again! Thank you VisitBritain!
