Can the Blues beat the Reds and become the new kings of Manchester?
After a summer of many incredible transfers into the gates of City of Manchester Stadium, could the ‘mancs’ be contenders for the premiership? After spending 200 million pounds this summer on new players they certainly are expected to do so.
Big signings like Carlos Téves, Emanuele Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz have added goalscoring abilities to an already powerful attacking force. With Britains most expensive player Robinho, alongside Craig Bellamy, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Benjani, the Blues certainly have the best team of strikers in the country. At midfield Stephen Ireland and Gareth Barry will add some much needed balance.
Their manager is former Blackburn manager and Manchester United legendary striker, Mark Hughes. Many critics have seen the coaching position as the weakest one on the team, and rumours are circulating on when the owners will replace him for someone with a bigger name and more experience. The pressure is on for the Welshman to deliver!
Next game is their biggest challenge so far, playing Arsenal tomorrow at the City of Manchester Stadium. Carl is now on his way to Manchester and will be at the match tomorrow. And he will get back to you next week with a report from the match!
Oh, and did you know that both Liam and Noel Gallagher from Oasis are big Manchester City supporters?
