This iconic Wimbledon dish has been served by usherettes dressed in tennis whites since this Monday and will be handed out to approximately three million people over the next two weeks.
Heathrow spokesman Malcolm Robertson said: “Passengers arriving at Heathrow will be left in no doubt that Wimbledon has arrived. We hope our exciting welcome to the UK puts a smile on their faces and leaves them as excited as we are to cheer on our tennis champions.”
So to all of those travelling through Heathrow these coming two weeks, I am not at all envious. Not the tiniest bit… But really, I would love to join you in eating them. Since I can’t, I might as well wish you a happy Midsummers Eve tomorrow and enjoy your flight and your strawberries.
