My all-time favourite place in Scotland is Inveraray. This is a small town located north of Glasgow, on the western shore of Loch Fyne near its head, and on the A83 road.
The town with it’s distinctive white buildings was founded 1745 and it looks pretty much the same today as it did back then. If you would happen to go here, you’ll find that it is very welcoming and that the people here are kind-hearted and curious.
If you’re into whisky you’ll find one of the best stores in the world here. It’s called Loch Fyne Whiskies, and it’s located at the top of Main Street. It’s a religious experience just walking through the door. The pub on the opposite side of the road (The George) serves excellent mussels.
